The popular midsize Ford Fusion sedan features handsome styling inside and out, with contemporary powertrain choices that include no less than three EcoBoost four-cylinder turbocharged engines. The car’s ride and handling characteristics are among the best in the midsize class, though the car’s front seats aren’t as comfortable as they could be. Many of the latest safety and convenience features are available; unfortunately they include the balky and counter-intuitive MyFord Touch multimedia system. A gas/electric Fusion Hybrid version is also available along with a plug-in hybrid Fusion Energi that deliver gains in fuel economy, but at steep prices that may or may not be recovered in gas savings alone. The Fusion competes with some of the industry’s top-selling models, including the Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, and Chevrolet Malibu; a luxury-oriented version with specific styling and added features is sold as the Lincoln MKZ.
